Poems
The Christmas story and beyond sketched out
through sixteen short poems with ideas for you to ponder
upon.
Here are many of the familiar figures of Christmas together with some thoughts touching upon what became of the child, his teachings, and his church. The final two poems are a short prayer and a peace for Christmas.
Photographs
The photographs are flowers and herbs
collected in the Holy Land after it was liberated just before
Christmas 1917. They were collected at several different locations
such as Mt Carmel, St John, Bethlehem, Nazareth, and areas in or
around Jerusalem including Mt Zion, Bethany, The Mt of Olives,
Siloam, Gethsemane, and Jeremiah. There are also some winter scenes
from where the poems and carols were written.
Carols
Thou Holy Child is a lullaby for Christmas
night. The Holly and the Ivy is a song inspired by my favourite
carol combining the messages of Christmas, nature, folklore, and
the turn of the year. I habve included notation for both
carols.
